The team of Bombay Velvet came together yesterday to launch the second trailer of the film. Present at the event were Anurag Kashyap who took up hosting for the event, Vikramaditya Motwane, Vikas Bahl, Madhu Mantena, Vijay Singh of Fox Star, Ranbir Kapoor, Anushka Sharma, Karan Johar, Manish Choudhary, K K Menon and Satyadeep Misra.

The team will now be seen promoting the film at various other platforms.

Of what we hear, director Abhishek Chaubey’s next film, Udta Punjab deals with the burning issue of substance abuse and heroin addiction rampant in Punjab. The film stars Kareena Kapoor Khan, Alia Bhatt and Shahid Kapoor, among others. Interestingly, while the protagonists’ lives are intertwined, they never meet in the film. Alia reportedly plays a heroin addict with a turbulent past, while Kareena plays a woman leading a sordid life thanks to her husband. Now this one’s already piqued our interest!

Ranbir Kapoor Turns Superhero in 2016

After Wake Up Sid and Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani, Ranbir will play a superhero in his next project with Ayan Mukerji. Having faced many delays so far, the film is scheduled to finally start in February 2016.

 

The film was earlier slated to start in June, but Ayan had to let go of Ranbir’s dates for Karan Johar’s Ae Dil Hai Mushkil, starring Anushka Sharma and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan. His film has finally been shown the green signal.

 

Sources say that Ranbir will finish Anurag Basu’s Jagga Jasoos and Imitaz Ali’s Tamasha by the end of this year, after which he has given his first slot of dates to Ayan’s film because he is reportedly excited to play a caped crusader. Furthermore, sources reveal that the actor will be involved in all aspects of the film including the script, helping the director give shape to the superhero, with strong mythological elements. Planned as a trilogy, both Ranbir and Ayan are involved in developing the character’s back story.
